 
						The Biotechnology Study Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), hosted a General Lecture for the Career in Biotechnology course featuring distinguished international speaker, Mr. Andreas Stäbler from the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV, Germany. The event was held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM (WIB) in the 3rd Floor Lecture Hall, PAU Building, UGM.

In his lecture, Mr. Stäbler delivered a presentation on “Current Applied Research Approaches in Non-Medical Biotechnology”, sharing insights into recent advancements in applied biotechnology beyond the medical field, and their potential contributions to industry and sustainability.
He also highlighted some of his ongoing and past research works, including:
- Biolubricants: eco-friendly lubricants derived from biological resources as sustainable alternatives to fossil-based lubricants.
- Tempeh as a GMO-related product from Indonesia: a fascinating case study of traditional fermented food and its relevance in the context of modern biotechnology.
- Introduction to OWSum: an innovative platform supporting biotechnology research and applications.
This event aimed to inspire students with knowledge of career opportunities in biotechnology, provide exposure to the dynamics of cutting-edge research, and encourage innovation that is both applicable and sustainable.
