Yogyakarta, September 26, 2025 – The Master’s Program in Biotechnology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a guest lecture featuring two distinguished Ph.D alumni from Duke University, USA. The event took place on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the 3rd Floor, Master’s Program in Biotechnology, UGM.
The first speaker, Khairunnisa Mentari Semesta, Ph.D, presented “From Science to Strategy: from PhD to Strategy Consulting in Biopharma”. She is currently working at L.E.K, New York US, focusing on strategic consulting in the biopharma industry.
The second speaker, Matthew Loring, Ph.D, delivered a lecture on “Brain-scale Neural Circuit Development in Zebrafish Visuomotor System”, discussing the development of neural circuits in the zebrafish visuomotor system, a key model in neuroscience research.
This guest lecture is expected to broaden students’ perspectives on the application of biotechnology, both in fundamental research and in strategic development within the biopharma industry.
