The Academic Development Team of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Biotechnology, Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as part of efforts to align the curriculum with the latest Rector’s Regulations and current curriculum implementation.
The event was held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM (WIB) at the 2nd Floor Meeting Room, Biotechnology Study Program, PAU UGM. It brought together faculty members, internal stakeholders, and an external speaker, Muhammad Saifur Rohman, S.P., M.Si., M.Eng, Ph.D., Chair of PBBMI Yogyakarta Branch, to discuss the direction of curriculum development.

The FGD focused on adjusting the curricula of the Master’s and Doctoral Biotechnology Programs to align with the latest regulations, advancements in science, and the needs of academia and industry. The presence of a representative from a professional organization was expected to provide additional perspectives on the competencies required of graduates in the field.
This interactive discussion is expected to generate strategic recommendations to enhance the quality of learning, graduate competencies, and curriculum relevance.
Through this initiative, the UGM Graduate School reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the quality of higher education and ensuring a curriculum that is adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive in the field of biotechnology.
