The Master’s Program in Biotechnology, Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held an Open Thesis Defense Session on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM (WIB) until completion. The event took place onsite at the 3rd Floor Classroom, Biotechnology Study Program, PAU UGM, and was also accessible online via Zoom Meeting.
This session featured two students presenting their research findings:
- Mohammed A. A. Albohisi (10:00 AM WIB) with the topic “Balad: A Novel Lytic Paundecimvirus with Antibiofilm Activity Infecting Pseudomonas aeruginosa from Muna Island Cave System.”
- Qurata A’yun Dyah Palupi (11:00 AM WIB) with the topic “Isolation, Cloning, and Expression of the Open Reading Frame (ORF) of L-Asparaginase from Gram-Positive Bacteria.”
This activity is part of the academic evaluation process for master’s students in completing their studies, while also serving as an open scientific forum for disseminating research outcomes in the field of biotechnology.
Through this open defense session, the program aims to strengthen the academic environment, enhance the quality of scientific discussion, and encourage knowledge exchange among the academic community.
