Master’s Students of Biotechnology UGM Participate in Biotechnology Seminar with International Experts from Japan

Master’s students from the Biotechnology Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) participated in a Biotechnology Seminar featuring distinguished experts from Japan. The seminar was held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 09:00 to 11:30 a.m. at AGLC Building, 6th Floor, UGM.

The event featured four international speakers: Prof. Hideaki Nojiri and Dr. Chiho Suzuki-Minakuchi from The University of Tokyo, Dr. Kengo Inoue from Miyazaki University, and Dr. Mari Maeda-Yamamoto from the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), Japan. read more

Master’s Student in Biotechnology Conducts Internship at Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan

A master’s student in Biotechnology, Muadz Fikri Gunawan, has successfully completed an international internship program at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan. The internship was conducted from February 23, 2026, to March 20, 2026.

During the program, Muadz joined the Laboratory of Organelle Control, a leading research laboratory focusing on cellular and organelle mechanisms. His research topic was titled “Unfolded Protein Response (UPR) and Its Application in Yeast Cells.” read more
